Happy Birthday, DeviantArt!
I can't believe it's been 14 years..
I've had this account for 8 of those years. I had one before this for hmm 2-3 before that? It's been a long time.. I don't really remember.
I've found so many talented artists through DeviantArt.
I've seen and experienced art from the funny to the deeply political.
Being part of this community has been a pleasurable learning experience that is constantly changing.
Thanks for everything, DA! Looking forward to the next 1..2...5..10..20 years!

I'm going to do a feature from old to new.
Here is an early picture on my account. This is Bono (like the singer from U2).
He is no longer with us. He was my stepmom's dog and was such a sweetie.
This is a picture from Prince Edward Island, one of my favorite places, EVER!
There was a major storm rolling in and shortly after this picture was taking the heavens opened up.
This post was one of the first that got any attention, which made my teenage self very excited and bashful.
Ahh.. high school self and high school bestie. Good times.
This is a great memory for us and it represents a major change in my life.
I had just finished ripping the wallpaper off and painting my room! Trust me, it was a long project and to finish it felt great.
Here's one of my favorite "oldies". Again, my bestie is featured.
This was chosen to be the cover of our high school's art/writing magazine my .. junior? senior? year.
I had a new camera, we had new Regina Spektor hoodies from her concert,
the light was great and ta-da!
I was very lucky to visit parts of Italy and Greece after high school (literally the day after graduation).
Our trip was only 10 days but it felt like months!
This is a shot of Delphi on our way out. I LOVED Delphi. I would love to return one day.
Aaaannndd here's a jump to the future. I didn't upload for awhile and I posted some on another account that I wanted
to save just for photographs, but decided I love this account too much.
I got back into Neopets (which I never really left - my account there is 12 yrs+).. and I treated myself
to a refurbished tablet. This took FOREVER but it was actually my first real attempt at drawing something!

You know, this has made me realize that I should upload some recent photographs. hmm..

Second, I got a new, better camera, and I hope to be taking more photographs.

I am no longer planning to be a geology major! I am going to be an English major and go to grad school to be a librarian.
Oy, what a change, right?
I'm trying to participate in the 365-picture-a-day challenge this year, but I am not posting all my pictures here. However, you can find them here: community.livejournal.com/mhc_…
I had made the LJ community to post pictures from my school, but I found I did not have time for it. I'm really trying to stick with this, though.
Lots has happened and changed this past year, I'm hoping to make 2011 a good one.
